Volleyball Recap: Alton's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Alton lost against Notre Dame back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Redbirds fell 2-0 to the Rebels.

While Alton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23.

Madeleine Ducey paced Alton's offense, picking up six kills. Ducey got some help from Gracie Milford and her 11 assists. Mackenzie Cochran controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Alton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Notre Dame, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alton will challenge Cahokia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame, they will venture away from home to challenge Cor Jesu Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
