Baseball Recap: Isabella Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Isabella won the last time they faced Central of Coosa County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Isabella Mustangs blew past the Central of Coosa County Cougars 14-1. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Levi Wilkins and Austin Porter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilkins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Porter pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Wilkins a new career-low. At the plate, Wilkins scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5, while Porter scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Porter has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Isabella let Eli Boatwright and Garrett Price run wild. Boatwright scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Price scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Boatwright a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Josh Thomas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Isabella was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in four consecutive games.

Isabella's record is now 5-2. As for Central of Coosa County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Isabella will venture away from home to take on Dallas County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Isabella is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Central of Coosa County, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Loachapoka at 4:00 p.m. Central of Coosa County has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
