Basketball Game Preview: Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners vs. Liberty Christian Academy Heat

The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners are taking a road trip to challenge the Liberty Christian Academy Heat at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pamlico Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Pamlico Christian Academy earned a 49-37 victory over Jacksonville Christian Academy. Given the Mariners' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Conquerors are ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trent Gaskins was a one-man wrecking crew for Pamlico Christian Academy as he went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and five assists. That's the most points Gaskins has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Caccavaro, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian Academy came up short against Coastal Christian on Tuesday and fell 57-49.

Pamlico Christian Academy's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
