Football Game Preview: Morehead Panthers vs. Reidsville Rams + How To Watch

Morehead is 0-9 against Reidsville since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will face off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Morehead's victory against McMichael wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Panthers made off with a 13-12 win over the Phoenix. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The critical scores for Morehead came from Judson Friese and Christian Scales.

Morehead was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 76 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 195.7.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Morehead's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Brock Blizzard and Markeis Barbour, who racked up four sacks between them. Blizzard is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Meanwhile, Reidsville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Cougars 42-0. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Morehead better keep an eye on Kendre Harrison. He was instrumental in Reidsville's win, picking up 129 receiving yards and three scores. That's the most receiving yards Harrison has posted since back in November of 2024.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Reidsville, their record now sits at 5-2.

Morehead took a serious blow against Reidsville when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 52-7. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 33-0.
