Baseball Game Preview: Mount Tahoma T-Birds vs. Bellarmine Prep Lions

The Mount Tahoma T-Birds will face off against the Bellarmine Prep Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount Tahoma will be strutting in after a victory while Bellarmine Prep will be coming in after a loss.

Mount Tahoma is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Lincoln on Wednesday. The T-Birds walked away with a 6-3 win over the Abes. The victory continues a trend for the T-Birds in their matchups with the Abes: they've now won five in a row.

Jacob Kerwood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Mount Tahoma's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Kerwood was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Kerwood wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carson Roll, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Roll has posted since back in March of 2024. Jayden Bookout was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bellarmine Prep faced off against Central Kitsap on Tuesday. The Lions fell 7-3 to the Cougars. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellarmine Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mount Tahoma, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
