After flying high against Safford last Monday, Douglas came back down to earth. Douglas came up short against the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts on Friday, falling 9-2. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Douglas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emiliano Fimbres, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Mica Mountain, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8-1.

Looking ahead, Douglas will host Sahuarita at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sahuarita's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Douglas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mica Mountain, they will square off against Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
