Basketball Game Preview: Flanagan/Woodland Falcons vs. Heyworth Hornets

Flanagan/Woodland is 2-8 against Heyworth since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Flanagan/Woodland Falcons will take on the Heyworth Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Flanagan/Woodland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They snuck past LeRoy with a 48-42 win. The Falcons didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

It was another big night for Ella Derossett, who went 8-for-20 on her way to 18 points and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Flanagan/Woodland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Palaschak, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Heyworth beat Lexington 37-31 on Monday.

Flanagan/Woodland's record is now 11-20. As for Heyworth, their record is now 14-16.

Flanagan/Woodland might still be hurting after the 61-38 defeat they got from Heyworth when the teams last played back in January. Can Flanagan/Woodland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
