Monte Vista has gone a perfect 10-0 against Center recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Pirates will host the Vikings at 11:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monte Vista is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Alamosa just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 20-8 to Rocky Ford.

Jaiden Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing seven bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ruggles, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
