Preview: Legacy Longhorns vs. Cimarron-Memorial Spartans

Legacy is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Cimarron-Memorial is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Legacy Longhorns will take on the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Legacy is ranked 19th, while Cimarron-Memorial is ranked 22nd).

Last Tuesday, Legacy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-54 to Shadow Ridge.

The losing side was boosted by Rahjon Chambers, who scored 17 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maven-Bell Toleafoa, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Cimarron-Memorial earned a 59-48 victory over Chaparral on Wednesday.

Legacy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Legacy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cimarron-Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 66-62 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Cimarron-Memorial's Gerald Patterson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Legacy still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
