Softball Recap: Sheboygan Falls Falcons vs. Chilton Tigers
Sheboygan Falls extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-5 in the process. They came up short against the Chilton Tigers, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
As for Chilton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Considering they have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Chilton's part, Gwendolyn Sell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Reegan Woodard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those hits were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eliana Bates, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
