Volleyball Recap: Placer Hillmen vs. Nevada Union Miners
Placer was the 3-2 winner over Nevada Union when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Placer Hillmen took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nevada Union Miners on Thursday. While the Hillmen didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Miners 30-28 in the first set.
Placer couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Nevada Union a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 28-30, 25-19, 27-25, 25-12.
Despite the loss, Placer still got an impressive performance from Morgan Boyme, who had two aces and 11 assists.
She wasn't the only good server: Placer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
Nevada Union's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taryn Parmenter, who had 15 digs, five kills, and three aces.
