Football Recap: East Chapel Hill Skates Past Carrboro with Ease

After losing to Carrboro the last time they met, East Chapel Hill decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Jaguars 38-7. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three games by 31 points or more so far this season.

East Chapel Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from A'Maree Evans, who rushed for 97 yards and two TDs on only six carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Those 39 receiving yards gave Evans a new career-high. Leo George was another key signal caller, throwing for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.

East Chapel Hill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jake Canady and Mo Sylla.

The victory made it two in a row for East Chapel Hill and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 19 points in those games. As for Carrboro, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, East Chapel Hill will head out to challenge Mount Zion Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carrboro, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Louisburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
