Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Palo Verde's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Palo Verde walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the ALA - Ironwood Warriors on Saturday, sneaking past 64-62. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-50 back in January.

Palo Verde's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Powers, who en route to 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Powers has posted since back in December of 2024. Kameron Pippen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine assists.

Palo Verde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Adkins, who on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Adkins' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Anderson, who to rack up 17 points and six rebounds.

Palo Verde has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points over those games. ALA - Ironwood's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Palo Verde will square off against Benjamin Franklin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Benjamin Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. ALA - Ironwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
