Softball Recap: Pine Grove Beats Williams Valley for Their Fifth Straight Win

Pine Grove came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Williams Valley Vikings 14-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Callee Leffler was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Madison Shiffer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Pine Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Pine Grove's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Williams Valley, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-2.

As of now, neither Pine Grove nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
