Payton Curtiss has been named player of the year. "Senior point guard, Payton Curtiss, #1 is this year's Great Oak Player of the Year. Payton led the Southwestern Conference for her second straight year in steals and assists. Payton's hard work on defense and play-making abilities to create easy baskets for teammates awards her this year's POY. Payton helped change the culture at Great Oak and led the Wolfpack to their first league title since 2017. When Payton was absent due to a family wedding, the home Pack got beat by 15 to powerhouse Vista Murrieta. When the teams played again and Payton played, Great Oak won by 13 on the road. Payton's ability to defend at an elite level, leading the team in minutes played merits this award. Payton was 1st team all-league for the second time in a row. Payton's teams have won 3 league championships in her four years and she along with her teammates have resurrected the Great Oak Program."
