Damascus Hornets (Damascus, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wheaton Knights (Silver Spring, MD), 47-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Damascus upgrades its record to 7-10 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Northwood (Silver Spring, MD) to play the Gladiators in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Gladiators come into the bout with a record of 5-13. Northwood lost 57-46 in their recent non-league bout against Watkins Mill (Gaithersburg, MD)

Next up, the Knights play the Watkins Mill Wolverines (Gaithersburg, MD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Wheaton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Wolverines come into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 57-46 non-league win over Northwood (Silver Spring, MD).
