Coaches Game Summary

The Muskrats knew they were going to have a challenge ahead of themselves when an always tough Richmond Blue Devil team came to town. After being down 7-3 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Muskrats may very well have been standing at a theoretical fork in the road for their season. This was when the Muskrats answered the bell and the bats came to life, rallying for 6 runs with two outs and taking a 9-7 lead. The young men from Richmond were not ready to go quietly. They fought for 4 runs to take back the lead 11-9 in the top of the sixth and final inning (time limit) against Alex May whom had been shutting down the Richmond offense in the previous two innings. Being the home team, the Muskrats had 3 outs to decide the contest. An error, two walks, and two sacrifices brought Jeff Geck to the plate in an 11-10 game with two outs. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and a 1 ball and 2 strike count, Jeff laced a fastball back up the middle scoring both runners.
