Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Munising Mustangs (Munising, MI) and the visiting Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI), saw Munising's basketball squad hold off Ishpeming by a tally of 49-46.

With the victory, Munising improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Big Bay de Noc (Cooks, MI) to confront the Black Bears in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 5. The Black Bears come into the challenge with a record of 2-8. Big Bay de Noc won 45-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Rapid River (Rapid River, MI)

Next up, the Hematites confront the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) in a Mid-Peninsula challenge, on Friday, February 8. Ishpeming will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record.
