Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI), 42-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Ishpeming upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Hematites travel to Marquette (Marquette, MI) to play the Redmen in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 17. The Redmen go into the bout with a record of 12-4. Marquette won 74-35 in their recent league bout against Escanaba (Escanaba, MI)

Next up, the Miners play the Gladstone Braves (Gladstone, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 17. Negaunee will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 74-40 league win over Kingsford (Kingsford, MI).
