The Memphis Yellowjackets routed the host Marlette Red Raiders softball squad by a final score of 8-3 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Yellowjackets (1-5) will now prepare for their battle against Marlette (Marlette, MI). The Red Raiders go into the Greater Thumb - East battle with a 7-14 record. In their last battle, Marlette was routed by Capac (Capac, MI), 10-0, in a non-league battle.

The Red Raiders now possess a 8-15 record. They play next when they host Memphis for a Greater Thumb - East battle on Tuesday, June 3.

There isn't much to say about this game - we were totally embarrassed and assured ourselves that we would finish in dead last place in the GTC-East. There are changes coming, both within the coaching staff and returning players. We took a step backwards this season and that cannot happen. It is hard to say why some of these girls have not turned the "corner" in terms of their playing ability level. Communication is one thing they all need to do better and sadly after three years it probably isn't possible any longer. This offseason will be an interesting one, in terms of who comes in to put the time in and if that time helps them become a better player. Lots of interesting changes ahead during the offseason and in moving towards 2015.
