Coaches Game Summary

JA wrapped up play in the Big Blue Classic, in Madison Central, on Wednesday afternoon with their last game against MHSAA competition in Terry High. JA dropped their 5th straight decision and finished 0-4 in the Big Blue Classic. It began as a pitcher's duel between two hurlers who had not lost a game yet in Andrew Alexander and Westin Stringer. Alexander was unable to avoid the base-on-balls bug as he sent a season-high eight batters to first on walks. Four of those came in to score and it looked like the Raiders were going to be shut out again. But JA was able to manage a brief comeback in the sixth with a four run frame on two straight run-producing hits by Matt Smith and Michael Mordecai. That ended a 14 inning scoreless streak by the Raiders. But JA surrendered three runs in the bottom of the frame and the rally was thwarted.
