The Walnut Wildcats basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Blue Mountain Cougars to 22 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host New Albany for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Walnut will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 63-29 non-league loss to Ripley (Ripley, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.

The Cougars (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Myrtle (Myrtle, MS). The Hawks enter the 1A Region 2 contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Myrtle triumphed over Saltillo (Saltillo, MS), 59-54, in a non-league contest.
