Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Falkner Eagles (Falkner, MS), 79-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Myrtle upgrades its record to 3-9 on the season. The Hawks travel to Saltillo (Saltillo, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Saltillo won 93-60 in their recent non-league bout against Kossuth (Kossuth, MS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Alcorn Central Bears (Glen, MS) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Falkner will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record.
