Florence Eagles (Florence, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Lanier Bulldogs (Jackson, MS), 86-77 in a league bout.

With the victory, Florence upgrades its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to South Pike (Magnolia, MS) to play the Eagles in a 4A Region 6 bout on Friday, January 11. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 13-1. South Pike won 96-45 in their recent league bout against Richland (Richland, MS)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the McComb Tigers (McComb, MS) in a 4A Region 6 bout, on Friday, January 11. Lanier will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 83-50 league loss to Raymond (Raymond, MS).
