Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Florence Eagles (Florence, MS) and the visiting Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS), saw Florence's basketball squad wallop Quitman by a tally of 70-47.

With the victory, Florence improves its record to 10-0 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Newton County (Decatur, MS) to confront the Cougars in a 4A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 12. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Richland Rangers (Richland, MS) in a 4A Region 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 12. Quitman will attempt to improve on its 5-1 season record. The Rangers come into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 66-62 league win over Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS).
