The Piney Woods Tornadoes basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the host Stringer Red Devils to 51 in the Tornadoes league victory on Thursday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mount Olive for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 31. Piney Woods will battle a Pirates team coming off a 57-51 non-league loss to Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS). The Pirates record now stands at 7-10.

The Red Devils (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Taylorsville (Taylorsville, MS). The Tartars come into the non-league contest with a 4-15 record. In their last contest, Taylorsville dropped by North Forrest (Hattiesburg, MS), 56-46, in a league contest.
