Saltillo Tigers (Saltillo, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Tupelo Golden Wave (Tupelo, MS), 61-60 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Saltillo upgrades its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Tigers host Kossuth (Kossuth, MS) to play the Aggies in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Aggies come into the bout with a record of 4-6. Kossuth won 61-49 in their recent non-league bout against Mantachie (Mantachie, MS)

Next up, the Golden Wave play the Horn Lake Eagles (Horn Lake, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Tupelo will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 53-37 non-league loss to Gentry (Indianola, MS).
