The Kossuth Aggies edged the visiting Belmont Cardinals softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Aggies meet the Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 6. Kossuth will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 9-12 record after their 9-1 league loss to Biggersville (Corinth, MS).

The Cardinals (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Alcorn Central (Glen, MS). The Golden Bears come into the 3A Region 1 battle with a 12-6 record. In their last battle, Alcorn Central got by Mantachie (Mantachie, MS), 3-2, in a league battle.
