Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) and the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), saw Hickory's basketball squad wallop Watauga by a tally of 70-48.

With the victory, Hickory improves its record to 18-5 on the campaign. The Red Tornadoes host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to confront the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, February 10. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 15-7. Hibriten won 53-38 in their recent league challenge against Patton (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Pioneers confront the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Friday, February 10. Watauga will attempt to better on its 6-16 season record. The Spartans come into the contest with a 12-10 record after their 71-69 league loss to Foard (Newton, NC).
