Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 69-55 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Highlands upgrades its record to 7-13 on the season. The Highlanders host Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC) to clash with the Eagles in a bout on Friday, February 5. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-14.
Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Nantahala Hawks (Topton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 5. Murphy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-18 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 72-26 non-league loss to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).
