The Grand County Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 82-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piute. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (58), Grand County still had to take the loss.
Grand County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Toney, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Berry, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Grand County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Piute, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Grand County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Panguitch at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Panguitch is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Piute, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Pinnacle at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. One thing working in Pinnacle's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
