Football Recap: Venice Skates Past Lehigh with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Venice). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lehigh Lightning 51-0. The Indians have beaten the Lightning the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lightning has come to flipping the script.

Venice's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dorian 'Macho' Jones, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Darryon Jones, who threw for 220 yards and one touchdown on only 17 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Venice was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lehigh only rushed for 29.

Venice now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lehigh, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Venice wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 27-14 defeat against IMG Academy on the 3rd. As for Lehigh, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-19 loss against Dunbar on the 3rd.
