The Point Loma Pointers were the 73-62 winner over the Clairemont Chieftains when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Point Loma ended up on the wrong side of a tough 76-53 walloping at the hands of Clairemont on Friday.
Despite the loss, Point Loma still got an impressive performance from Grant Stewart, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Nick Woodworth was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Point Loma has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season. As for Clairemont, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Point Loma will be playing at home against Crawford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Point Loma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Clairemont, they will head out on the road to square off against Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Classical Academy is coming into the matchup with eight straight defeats at home, meaning Clairemont will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
