Regina Dominican has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Hoffman Estates Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Regina Dominican was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to the Caxys.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Olivia Fraterrigo, who scored 17 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Payton Olszewski was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Hoffman Estates' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Barrington on the road and fell 65-25. While losing is never fun, Hoffman Estates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Fillies/Broncos are ranked 92nd).
Regina Dominican's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Hoffman Estates, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-21.
