There's no place like home for Washburn Rural, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Shawnee Mission East Lancers 2-1. This was payback for the Blues, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Washburn Rural who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Shawnee Mission East still got an impressive performance from Adeline Clifford, who had four digs and three aces.

Washburn Rural now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Shawnee Mission East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
