Watsonville barely beat Carmel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcatz blew past the Padres 16-3 on Friday. Considering the Wildcatz's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Amelia Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. Martinez was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.

Sigala did most of the damage at the plate:  Rodriguez  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run, while  Sigala  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  Rodriguez a new career-high.  Taylor Alves was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Watsonville  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .543. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Watsonville's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 13-13. As for Carmel, their defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 19-6.
