Stratford hasn't had much luck against Cypress Falls recently, but that could start to change  on Saturday. The Spartans will challenge the Eagles at 11:00  a.m. Stratford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.4  points per game  this season.
Stratford easily dispatched Jersey Village two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Spartans fell just short of Cy-Fair by a score of  31-28 on Saturday. The  game was a  14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Spartans couldn't quite close it out.

Stratford might have lost, but man,  Gavin Guzman was a machine:  he threw for 255 yards and three  TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards.  Davis Kendall was in the mix  as well, providing the Spartans with two scores.
 Even if they lost, Stratford's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Callan Kirk and  Matthew Bednar, who racked up  five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Cypress Falls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed past the Falcons to the tune of  38-0. The Eagles pushed the score to  24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had  little chance of recovering from.
 Cypress Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Liam Madkins and  Austin Chavis. Chavis also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with six. He got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
 Cypress Falls now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Stratford, they now  have a losing record of 3-4.
 Stratford suffered a grim  35-12 defeat to Cypress Falls  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
