The East Tech Scarabs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Collinwood for the full four quarters, racking up a 93-36 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory East Tech has managed all season.
East Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keshawn Ellington out in front who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ellington has scored at least 25% of East Tech's points. Another player making a difference was Chris Simon, who scored 19 points along with five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for East Tech and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Collinwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
East Tech will be home for the holidays to greet Beachwood at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Beachwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while East Tech is ranked 231st). Collinwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. The timing is sure in Canfield's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Collinwood has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
