The Rensselaer Central Bombers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 61-20 victory over North White at home. Considering Rensselaer Central has won 12 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rensselaer Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamri Rowland, who scored 14 points along with eight steals. The matchup was Rowland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cadence Manns, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
North White's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Autumn Reif, who scored six points along with nine rebounds, and Katy Westerhouse who scored no points. Reif scored a full 30% of North White's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Rensselaer Central pushed their record up to 16-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for North White, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rensselaer Central will take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lafayette Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Rensselaer Central is ranked 17th). As for North White, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Newton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
