Pioneer moved up to 726 from 776 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Del Rio. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of falling to La Serna 62-7.
Pioneer fell to the Lancers 62-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
AARON ESCARENO was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 121 yards on 22 carries as El Rancho bested Chuck Willig's team. RYAN ARAUJO also contributed to the rushing game with 42 yards on the ground.
5-foot-10 quarterback Frankie Palmer of Margarito Beltran's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,398. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brandon Takata. The Santa Fe star has 32 catches for 635 yards.
Next week's game between the Lancers and Whittier will feature an aerial matchup as Palmer tests his arm against Gerry Pantoja's defensive ability.
The Dons are currently in third, while Santa Fe is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Cardinals take on La Serna. Whittier has allowed 170 points this season, while the Lancers have given up 135. Visko Ancich's team allowed 24 points last week as it lost to the Chiefs.
Santa Fe and the Cardinals played the closest game in the league this week, with Santa Fe eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
