Softball Recap: La Grande Has No Trouble Against Lewiston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Grande). They put the hurt on the Lewiston Bengals with a sharp 18-8 win on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bengals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Paige Allen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Marti Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

La Grande always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewiston only posted an OBP of .414.

La Grande's record is now 4-0. As for Lewiston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, La Grande will take on Twin Falls in a tournament on Saturday. La Grande's pitchers better be ready for this one: Twin Falls has averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Lewiston, they will be taking part in a tournament against Elko at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elko's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Lewiston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
