Prospect Ridge Academy took a serious blow against Kent Denver on Thursday, falling 104-66. Prospect Ridge Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-31.
When it comes to explaining why Prospect Ridge Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samuel Vasquez. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vasquez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Brandt, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Caleb Fay, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for Kent Denver. Fay is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lucas Zienkewicz, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Prospect Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Kent Denver, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will take on Peak to Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kent Denver, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Kent Denver is ranked tenth).
