The Caledonia-Mumford Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 81-68 to Hornell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caledonia-Mumford in their matchups with Hornell: they've now lost four in a row.
Caledonia-Mumford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nathan Doll, who scored 20 points. Doll scored a full 29.4% of Caledonia-Mumford's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Donny Peet was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.
Even though they lost, Caledonia-Mumford were working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Caledonia-Mumford has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Hornell, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Caledonia-Mumford will head out on the road to face off against Keshequa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keshequa is on a four-game streak of home losses, Caledonia-Mumford a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Hornell will take on Wayland-Cohocton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wayland-Cohocton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 778th, while Hornell is ranked 87th).
