They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Mitchell Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Seven Rivers Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Seven Rivers Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Hernando Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-16 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Seven Rivers Christian has posted since December 11, 2023.
Seven Rivers Christian relied on the efforts of Jurisah Bailey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Annalise De beer, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 12 rebounds, and nine steals. De beer is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joy Sullivan, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Mitchell struggled with assists on Saturday (River Ridge had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Mitchell lost to River Ridge on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin. Mitchell has struggled against River Ridge recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Mitchell got a solid performance out of Priya Jacob, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Jacob has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played.
Seven Rivers Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Wednesday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Seven Rivers Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Mitchell, though, as they've been averaging only 39 rebounds per game.
