Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ariyeh Spencer, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six steals. Spencer hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Maurice Holloway, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Hobgood Charter was led to victory by Khrie Rascoe and Hudson Roberson. Rascoe scored 21 points along with five assists and two steals, while Roberson scored 31 points along with eight rebounds. Roberson hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Landon Davis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Hobgood Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on Mattamuskeet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mattamuskeet is coming into the match with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Columbia will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Hobgood Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bear Grass Charter at 7:00 p.m. Bear Grass Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Hobgood Charter likes a good challenge.
