Garner's loss came despite strong showings from Olivia Jacobs and Sumayah Jones. Jacobs dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Jones scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds. Jacobs scored a full 30.4% of Garner's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Goldsboro, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garner will take on Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Goldsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
