Basketball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Elkhart Christian Academy had won two straight games and Lily Maxwell did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over the Mishawaka Cavemen thanks in part to Maxwell, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Yordy, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Despite the defeat, Mishawaka saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tinayja Summers went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points.

Elkhart Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Mishawaka, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Elkhart Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-36 victory against Lakewood Park Christian on the 11th. As for Mishawaka, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-29 loss against Plymouth on the 11th.
