Lakewood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Bear Creek Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Lakewood was able to grind out a solid win over the Rebels, taking the game 63-54.
Brandon Bazan-torres continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Bane, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Bear Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Ralston Valley 71-34.
Lakewood's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Bear Creek, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Lakewood ended up a good deal behind the Bears when the teams last played back in January, losing 48-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bear Creek's Emilek Jallow, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. Now that Lakewood knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
