The Madison Blue Streaks pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of North. Madison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, one person who can't be blamed is JP Dragas. Despite the final result, he scored 39 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Landon Tomco, who scored 12 points.
North can attribute much of their success to Sean Register Jr, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Tadiello, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Madison bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0.
Madison will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Martin de Porres at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for North, they will head out on the road to face off against University School at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
