It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Mt. Diablo Red Devils can now relate to. They were beaten by the Broncos 70-36 on Monday. Mt. Diablo has not had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Northgate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grayson Boustead, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals. Boustead has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Louie, who scored 15 points.
Mt. Diablo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Northgate, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
Mt. Diablo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northgate won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Benicia is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
